"I would like to make a stop-motion film by asking people to bring a photo of something they love and creating a wall of things we love.... this is just the beginnings of an idea. it will blossom. i'll try for something where peeps don't have to bring anything, but i like the idea of a wall of love.

I am SOOOO excited for this years Matjiesfontein Show N Tell, that I even made a little video from the pictures and video that I collected from last year.
I'm even MORE excited because my birthday is on the 4th, so I'll try and do something birthday orientated for my contribution...something sweet!

matjies bookings are officially OPEN

bookings for this year's show 'n tell are officially OPEN and this is what you need to do:

step 1 - email me (raffaella) at THIS address (matjie.bookings@gmail.com) saying that you want to come and what your contribution is going to be or what you are thinking, dreaming 'n scheming about doing

step 2 - you will receive a magic* password

step 3 - your magic* password will allow you to book your room with the hotel staff (don't worry, we'll supply you with the contact info)

step 4 - pay your deposit

step 5 - keep your eye on the blog and get cracking on your contribution..........october is closer than you think

Accommodation Prices

For show ‘ n tell only the hotel has been generous enough to offer a flat rate across the whole hotel - rooms are on a first-come, first-serve basis so if you want prime, get in there early!

R330 per person sharing, per night - bed and breakfast
R360 per single person per night - bed and breakfast ( so if a single person sleeps in a double room this is what you pay)

Self-catering cottages (R750 per cottage - no breakfast)
Breakfast per person R55

THINK TANK your 2009 contributions

this is the community hall in the village of Matjiesfontein
THIS year - we will be getting into the red bus or town tractor cross the rail tracks and take our "lawn activities" to the real matjies show 'n tell souls on the Saturday afternoon of the weekend..

the village is preparing a talent show for us.. think BREAKDANCING straight from the heart of the karoo! matjies kids presenting and show 'n telling us stuff our townies dont know about..
YOUR contribution can be based around town interactive stuff this year.. space hoppers here ? face painting ? mask making ? juggling lessons ? think PLAY Play and PLAY old kids young kids
.. there will also be some film/s screened later - big screen style in a little town of 200 plus inhabitants..

great news!

on saturday afternoon of the weekend, there will be a soccer AND netball match (yes, apparently some people still play netball) against the local matjiesfontein teams at the community center across the tracks. If you are keen to sign up for the showdown between the show'n tell team versus majtiesfontein united, then email adcoops1980@gmail.com.
